District Collector’s Internship Programme

District Collector’s Internship Programme is an unpaid multi-disciplinary internship programme offered by the Kozhikode District Administration to facilitate the development of a compassionate and professional civil society. DCIP provides an opportunity for the youth to experience the real functioning of government machinery from within and to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Interns will receive challenging assignments in different arenas of government, which will provide invaluable addition to their personal and professional life. The focus of the internship programme would be to inculcate empathy and compassion towards the weakest segments within the society. The key areas of intervention would be orphanages, old age homes, palliative care, differently abled , mental health and settlements of other marginalized sections of the society. The programme would also strive to make a qualitative difference to the lives of the common man. The interventions would be professional & technology oriented and at the same time driven by pure compassion and a passion to make a difference. The Gandhian Talisman is the guiding principle of this experimental programme.
